Other People's Photos: Nostalgic Summer of Love and Sadness

We'll wrap this fiasco up with one of my favorites.

Thanks to everybody who has checked the blog, zine, art exhibitions, and slide shows for making 2010 the most Junk Pirate-est year so far.

See you next year.

Other People's Photos: Flower Bed

I'm back after a little Holiday.
There are just so many great and twisted Junk Store donation that need to come to light, so this'll be the last stretch of Other People's Photos for a bit.
The weather outside is cold cold cold, so let's heat things up with a hot hot hot (or maybe not) series of swimsuit beauties.

Other People's Photos: Protect Ya Neck

Here's a treat: A Junk Pirate photo from the original Art Exhibition back in 2006. And looks like it sold. Sucker.
There were a lot of great photos of other people in that show. I wish it had occurred to me to scan them. Oh well.

I've been thinking of making a new Junk Pirate blog specifically for Other People's Photos, updated daily. Then, I'd use it as a book proposal and get even richer selling your junk as an "art" project. If this lady got a book deal, I should be optioning movie rights by 2013.

Let me know what you think in the comments. I'll take a total lack of response as unconditional support.

Other People's Photos: Elvish Swigger

Still one of the best. This one ended up on the cover of Junk Pirate # 7.
This photo survived several years lurking in the Junk Store, no small feat, and I now have it framed on my studio wall to inspire me with thoughts of cool, refreshing rewards after a long hike with the most cinched-in belt ever.

Other People's Photos: Los Angeles

I know the month of Found Photos is over, but I have some more all scanned and ready to go, so let's keep going.

Other People's Photos: Growing Up

I figured I would end the month of found photos with the greatest sequence of yearly portraits so far. You can really see two of these people going in to adulthood, and one going from little kid to teenager.
And then, in the final picture, some new guy shows up (and he doesn't look all that happy to be there). I'm guessing he married the older girl. Unfortunately, the sequence ended at six photos.

It always freaks me out when we get photo albums that span a large person of someone's life. There it is... their youth, graduation, wedding, new family, vacations, triumphs, celebrations, getting old. Someone's life. And now it's in the landfill or, if your lucky, junk store for someone else to own.

Other People's Photos: Cropped

I absolutely love photos of people where they are unintentionally cropped or somehow framed odd.

Other People's Photos: Dinner with One-Eye

So much is great about this photo... the napkin tucked into the coller, the pies on the stove, what the heck is in that bowl? popcorn?, the glass of soda, and, oh yeah, he only has one eye!

Remember, a new Found Photo on this blog everyday this month, and maybe into December.
